It’s been 25 years since the Notorious BIG passed away, but soon the icon of the late rap will be resurrected in virtual reality.
The Notorious BIG Sky’s The Limit: A VR Concert Experience, announced to coincide with Biggie’s 50th birthday, will return to Biggie in a “realistic, surreal” form. to diversity.
“The Notorious BIG is back,” reads an Instagram post offering a look at the resurrected rapper. “His music, his style, his influence is unparalleled. See him like never before in Meta Horizon Worlds’ ’90s Brooklyn recreation (The Brook). It will be interesting to watch him.”
“Sometimes I find it hard to grasp the ability to create new opportunities to showcase my son Christopher’s music through technological advances,” said Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace. “However, when I designed his avatar, I found So much excitement and added value from realizing that fans are experiencing its added value in a way that has never been possible before. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this project a reality.”
Mark Pitts, the rapper’s manager and president of RCA Records, added: “Creating new content for BIG is fantastic. The world is deprived of the opportunity to watch Biggie grow and develop as an artist. The magic of Web3 is that it gives us the opportunity to celebrate Biggie’s music with visuals that have never been done before.”
The concert experience, created in collaboration with the Notorious BIG Estate, will debut exclusively at Meta Horizon Worlds on December 16 and will only be available through the Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest Pro virtual reality headsets. Viewers will be able to follow the day of the rap legend, culminating in a concert featuring Diddy, Latto, Nardo Wick, DJ Clark Kent, Lil’ Cease and more.
